Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop

Hello All!!!!!!!

I am so happy I was able to participate in this months blog hop. For this challenge I decided to make a set of cards with matching envelops for a friend. I made them simple so that I could mass produce, but like the way they came out.

The colors I used were white, lemon tart and berry sorbet. I have always liked these colors together and then seem to be very bright and summery :)

On the lemon tart section, I stamped circles from Polka Dot Basics in lemon tart and then in berry sorbet, I stamped a flower from the Boxes, Bags & Tags set. I wrapped some lemon tart satin ribbon around the card front and then used a dimensional to adhere the circle. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages. Just for a little bit of shimmer, I added the angel wings shimmerz the the flowers.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I can not wait to go thru and blog hop :) I have grabbed an energy drink and snacks and I am ready to go!!!!

Smooches

*****Second post for today, please scroll down*****

OMG!!! Isn't this image too cute? :) It is one of the summer release from Whiff Of Joy. I am in love with these images.

I loved the strawberries in the basket, so i took it from there. I was able to combine tow challenges with this card.

The first challenge is from Stamp Something. This challenge is a sketch challenge. I love to do the sketch challenges, especially when I am stuck and can't really start on a card. It really does help :)

The second challenge is over at Copic Creations. This challenge is to do blonde hair on your image. I actually like the blonde hair on this cutie. The yellow was a good bright color to pair up with the strawberries.

I used Guidelines Stamp Set from PaperTrey Ink and created the background. I stamped a strawberry in every other square. I am not sure if you can see it in the picture, but I added crystal effects to the strawberries in the basket :)

I hope you have a good rest of the night and I will see you tomorrow with some more projects!!!!

For the love of music

Hello all!!!!! I hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend. Ours has been good so far. Yesterday we went to a Dodger Baseball game with my sister and her family :) It was alot of fun, crazy, but fun.

Today, I have been able to do crafty stuff, so I decided that I would catch up on some challenges that I have been wanting to do.

This card I made for 365 Cards challenge Day 72. You had to use some form of music on your card. I had this pattern paper from DCWV for awhile. My daughter made a journal for her vocal class and there was scrap pieces that I thought I would use. I paired it with the Ipod Bella. Love her :) They are so fun to color. I picked yellow as an accent color, very bright and added just the right amount of color, I thought.

I will be back later with another card :)

Sympathy is always the hardest...

.......cards to make.

My boss' best friend just lost her mom and I was asked to make a card for her to send.

I don't make many sympathy cards, for some reason they are always the hardest for me to make. It is such a difficult time and you want your card to be perfect for that someone.

My sister gave me a few cards to go off from and I liked them both, but as soon as I started making this card, it ended up making itself and came out very lovely, in my opinion :)

I knew I did not want to use black and I did not want to use bright bright colors. I started with PapreTrey's Smokey Shadow for the card base (it looks black in the picture, sorry) and white. I wanted an accent color so I thought I try Lemon Tart. It is so pretty. My husband really liked how it came out :)

The stamp set is PaperTrey, With Sympathy. I stamped the vine stamp in the smokey shadow and added lemon tart flowers. The sentiment is also stamped in smokey shadow. I used the Martha Stewart butterfly punch to add a little dimension also I wrapped Lemon Tart satin ribbon and attached a clear button around it. For just a little sparkle, I added Stickles to the center of the flowers and on the edges of the butterfly.

I hope you like this card and hope everyone is having a good week so far!!!

Friend

***Second post for the day, please scroll down***

Oh my gosh!!!! I got the summer pack from Whiff Of Joy and all I can say is WOW!!!!!! Every stamp is awesome and way worth the money. I promise, go take a look. I can't even tell you my favorite, each on has it's own special thing about it.

This card is 3 challenges in one, whooohoooo, love that :)

The sketch came from Friday Sketchers Blog. What a fun sketch, I am so gonna have to use it again. It was fun and looks way cool.

The second challenge is Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog. For this challenge, you were to make a friend card. Who does not need a friendship card on hand? I always like having them, for that quick card needed to get mailed to brighten someones day.

The third challenge is over at A Spoon Full Of Sugar. This challenge was to use buttons. Now, trust me I have buttons around, but for some reason they are not the embellishment that I grab. It is weird, since they make a very nice affect to a card.

I hope you enjoyed these two cards today or this evening actually :) I am working on a few things, so I am really trying to be back tomorrow. I started Maggie Holmes Photography class today, so hopefully I learn alot and my pics will be better and better. Also, my daughter is doing a Genealogy project for a class, so that is been interesting the last few days going thru our family history.

If friends were flowers,

I'd pick you.

I so love this saying. It has alot of meaning for a very special friend.

The Whimsy Challenge Blog right now has a challenge called Flower Power. My second favorite thing, hehehehe :)

This card is a 5 inch square. I needed a little bigger card to accommodate the huge flower from Prima. I paired it with some patterned paper from PaperTrey Ink. The sentiment is also from PaperTrey called, Green Thumb. Oh, on the flower, I wanted some sparkle so I added Shimmerz, Angels Wings to each petal. It is very sparkly, IRL,

"Annie"

I hope everyone had a great time at the PaperTrey and Greeting Farm release party. I sooooo wish I was there :)

Instead I was watching Annie :) This is my daughter, JoAnna during a solo part that she has. She is Duffy, one of the orphans. It was a great show. It was opening night, so there were some snags and it did not start on time, but all the kids did a great job, and as for me, I was very proud mom :) Oh yeah, and trust me this is so not the only picute :) One of my daughters friends told me on the way home, "Was that your flash I kept seeing the WHOLE show", LOL, yup that was me, hehehehehehe.

My daughter LOVES to sing and the school she is in right now is a performing arts school. The school has done many plays and I am wondering what the next one is gonna be.

I am gonna rest today, we got home very late and had to get up way too early to get her to school again today. Not sure why opening night was on a school night, but what can you do ;)

I hope everyone has a very good Friday and a wonderful weekend. I am hoping to get to my craft table, but we will see. My daughter has me for the next couple more days running around for Annie, but i am sure I will need to relax and craft at some point :)

Paper Dolls :)

***Edited to add: tonight I will be at my daughters'Annie production performance, so I will be missing the Anya VSN and the PaperTrey release, but I will will be back to order and check out all the goodies, you can bet on that :)***

WhooooHooooo, lookie at what I came up with for my niece. A paper doll little play set :)

This is what started, let me start for the beginning. PaperTrey Ink added a new category for their Guest Star Stamper using Lauren's My Timeless Template. So I knew I wanted to try something this time around. Then over at Club Anya blog they were having a contest called Club Couture: Spring Fashion Show 2009 for the release of the new Anya stamps. Now when I think of a fashion show I was thinking of a RUNWAY!!!!!

So my concept of a paper doll play area took shape. On one side is the Runway part of it and the other is the forest :) I know my niece is gonna have a blast playing with this.

I used Anya & Ian and all their little clothes. I stamped, colored and cut all of them out. I had to figure out how to make the clothes be interchangeable, so I laminated the dolls and the clothes and then added magnets on them so they stay on to play with but easy to change when she wants her dolls to be dressed in something else :)

And this side is the forest. I used the stamp set, Forest Friends and Father knows Best over at PaperTrey Ink. I am so excited to mail this to her and can't wait to hear from her and hear what she thinks of it.

Thank you for letting me share this project with you. I had soo much fun making this and seeing it come together. Have a good Thursday, I will be in and out all day and actually until Saturday. My daughters performance of Annie is 3 days in a row with 4 showings, so it is gonna be busy busy for us.

You Grow Girl

Happy Wednesday!!!!!!

I am so glad it is Wednesday already, cause that means I get to show you VERY soon the projects I have been working on. I am so excited about that too. It came out soo cute and I know my niece is gonna love it :)

Today I wanted to show you a card that I made some time ago. The stamp set is called Amy's Boutique from All That Scraps. When I saw this sentiment, I knew I want to make a card that made the belly grow, hehehehe. So I started out for when you just found out you are pregnant and that designer paper is flat to the card. Then as you move on, I used dimensional adhesive and added just one for the 3 months and then I stacked 2 for the 6 months and then 3 for the 9 months. In person, you can really see the difference and it is a cool effect :)

Ok, so I am off to finish up last minute thingys on some projects so that I can make sure they are exactly the way I want them and then take pictures. I have been waiting for the right time for that, since I need to do it outside I think.

Have a Happy Wednesday and I will see you later today or tomorrow for sure!!!!

Wishing You a Happy Birthday

Hello!!! I hope everyone started their week off good and was able to get some crafty things done :)

I was able to get a few things done, but can't show them to you just yet. More on that a different day.

Today I wanted to show you a birthday criss cross card I made. This was literally made in like 30 min, and most of it was trying to figure out how I wanted to make it, LOL!!!! My boss called and asked if I could make her a card so she can send it to her grand-daughter for her birthday with a gift card. I knew I had only 30 min before I had to leave to get my daughter from school and since her school is by my boss' house, I HAD to combine the trips.

I did not take a picture of the card insert. I left it plain so she could write on it and there is a pocket on the back of the insert for her to put the gift card in.

My boss LOVED it and I may have to make more like this, hehehe. It will be perfect for those gift card sending birthdays.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!

You make my life fun!!!

*****Third post for today*****

Ok, this is the last card I will upload right now, so you can have a break :)

I was just cranking out so many projects yesterday that I feel like I can take on the world this week :) I NEVER get a whole day to do that, and oh I am thinking I am gonna have to find the tie to do that again. Major relaxation!!!!

I love this card, it is so fun. This card was made for 2 different challenges. The first one is over at 365 Cards for the sketch and then the second is over at A Spoon Full of Sugar, and this one you had to do something touchy feely.

I have not been able to ink this Anya up yet, that is until yesterday. I found some guitar patterned paper and knew that was gonna be PERFECT!!! The touchy feely part of this card is her hair :) I used Sparkly Fluff from Our Craft Lounge. I love this stuff, it is just like fun flock but with glitter in it. So now her hair sparkles like a Rock Star :)

I think is it for right now. I am gonna go get lots of work done so I am good all the way around. My daughter again has practice until 6pm for the Annie production. The show is this weekend, so LOTS of practices and dress rehearsals and such.

Here's hoping for everyone to have a great day!!!!!

Thinking of You

*****Second post for today*****

Hello again, LOL!!! I am so relaxed and happy that I got to spend so much time in the craft room yesterday. I have SOOOOOO many projects done, that you might actually get sick of me, hehehehehe :)

This card was inspired by an ad over at 365 Cards blog. When I first saw it, I knew I wanted to make the background out of squares. Now I did not realize that it was going to take awhile to punch he squares and then line them up :) I am positive that they are not perfect, hehehehe. I used the "Out on a Limb" set from PaperTrey for the tree, and then I sat there and cut it out. Crazy me, but I really like the coolness this card has :)

This moment.....

........contains all moments.

Happy Monday to you all!!!!!!

I have 3 cards to share with you today :) I hope everyone had a good Mother's Day! I was able to sit and relax in my craft area for HOURS. It was fun and relaxing. On Saturday, my family and I, my sister and her family and parents went out to lunch for Mother's Day. So I got to stay home yesterday and relax. My daughter, actually has a huge craft project on Lincoln, it is kind of weird. She has to create a cereal box of Lincoln, you know with a crazy name of the cereal that has the name Lincoln in it and everything. I guess what ever works to make all this info stick, right? So she was doing that and I was making cards, hehehe, so much fun.

This lovely card I made for 2 challenges. The sketch is from Whiff of Joy Challenge blog and the second is from Caardvarks. The the Caardvarks challenge you were to use a verse or quote somewhere. I love this saying, not sure why but it really puts things in perspective :)

Ok, off to upload some more cards for ya :)

Congratulations!!!!

*****Second post for today*****

I am almost caught up on the challenges over at 365 Cards!!!

This week it was very hard to get crafty things done everyday, but I hope this week that will change.

This card challenge was to make a card for a grad. Well, this year I dont know anyone graduating, but my daughter will be going from 8th to 9th, so this going to be for her when she has her ceremony. Which, I am not sure when exactly but I know they will be having it. Making this card, has made me get ahead of the game, now that feels good :)

The layout for this card I used the sketch challenge over at Mojo Monday. If you ever need something help when you are stuck on a project, go there. Each Monday, they put up a new sketch for you to try.

The color scheme is the same as the last card. All the scraps were sitting on my table so it just happened that way. The patterned paper tho is stars to match the stamp set from PaperTrey Ink.

I wanted stars on my ribbon and could not find any in my stash that would match. Which if you know me that is COMPLETELY amazing that I don't have it :) Ribbon, for me is such a bad habit. I am always buying it and my craft room is over flowing with ribbon , LOL!!!!

A wonderful time to craft :)

Hello!!!!!!! It was a crazy week, but today I got to do some crafty things and I feel GREAT!!! Happy Mother's Day to you all. I hope you are having a great tie spending it with family or friends.

When I saw the challenge over at 365 Cards, this idea has been running thru my head about making a lollipop to go on my card. For this challenge, you had to use candy to inspire you. Every time I think of candy, lollipops pop into my head. I don't know why but it does :)

The second challenge I am using this card for is over at Stamp Something, this challenge is to make a birthday card for one of the DT members, and guess what, her favorite color is pink!!! WhoooooHoooooo, my favorite too :)

I have had this patterned paper from DCWV and have always liked the butterflies on it. Bright and cherry and very springy. I wanted my lollipop to match the patterned paper, so I cut out one of the butterflies that I liked and applied crystal effects, to give it that shiny look. After it dried, I took some plastic that my cardstock comes wrapped in (total recycling :) and tied a knot with ribbon to hold it closed. The stick is white cardstock and I kept rolling it until it was the size I wanted, glued the end down, and there you have it, a crafty lollipop :)

I hope your rest of the day is wonderful. I am back to crafting. I LOVE these days!!!!

Think Pink Quilt

***Third post today, please scroll down***

I warned you on the last post. I LOVE 365 Cards blog :)

I had to catch up on the challenges, since I was not able to get to my craft table for a few days cause life happens, LOL!!!!

This challenge is actually for today, called Think Pink!!! WhoooooHooooo, my kind of challenge, pink, pink and more pink :)

After having this stamp set from PaperTrey Ink called Quilter's Samplers, I have not inked it up yet. I know, I know, my bad. I felt like coloring today so I thought this set was gonna be perfect.

I hope you all have a good night. I need to get a couple house chores done before I get my daughter from her outing with school.

See you all tomorrow!!!!

You R There & I am Here

***Second Post for today, please scroll down***

I am having a blast doing these challenges over at 365 Cards. If you have not taken a look, I highly recommend it :)

This challenge you had to use the sentiment "You are there & I am here". This card kinda made itself. I saw a chipboard "R" on my table and then it hit me to use that instead of "are".

The designer paper is from DCWV. I loved the colors and that is where I got the color scheme from.

I added the "I am here" to the inside of the card.

Hope you enjoy!!!!!

Mother

Hello all!!!! I hope your week so far is going good. It has been a crazy week here already. Too much to do and not enough time. I have not been able to get into the craft room and boy do I miss it.

Work has been slow today and my daughter is at the taping of American Idol today, so since I don't have to pick her up until really late tonight I thought I catch up on some challenges that I wanted to do for the week.

This card was made for the challenge over at 365 Cards a couple days ago.

I started off with a white card base and picked the designer paper from Papertrey Ink and then went from there. The red ribbon was something I HAD to add at the last minute tho. I wanted just to add a few stitches, but of course the sewing machine was not cooperating with me, so instead of tossing it I made it work :)

I really like the way it ended up tho. It is not too over the top, simple but perfect!!!

Purple, Purple and more Purple :)

Purple is so not my color. Is it not that I don't like it, it is just that I tend to move towards pink :)

I was able to again combine 3 challenges. For me this is challenging in itself, so it is more fun and really gets me to think out of the box.

I knew I wanted to do the sketch challenge over at 365 Cards and then went from there. I actually like how this turned out.

The second challenge is over at Copic Creations. You were to incorporate purple flowers/Lilacs in your project. This is something I really need to practice more on. I LOVE flowers so I really need to practice. Practice makes perfect, right?

The third challenge is called Spring Fling over at Capture the Moment. I really like the inspiration piece from Kelly Lunceford. I so wish I could have flowers like that in my yard :)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and took time out and got to relax and craft.

Bouquet of Flowers

I hope you all are getting lots of crafting done today!!! I got a few projects completed but I still have many ideas running thru my head, so I either need to get my butt back to the craft table or write them down before I forget, LOL!!!!!

As I started this project, the idea I had in my head is soooo not the final project. That happens to you too, right? :)

I really like how bright and cheery it turned out. I started with the challenge over at 365 Cards. You are to use 8 flowers in your project. I made a bouquet of flowers :)

The designer paper is from DCWV, that is were I got my color scheme from. The flowers, I crochet the center flowers and then layered them on top of Prima's.

I hope you enjoy. I am gonna get back to crafting. I LOVE days like this :)

A Couple of Updates

I will be back later with some projects for National Scrapbooking Day!!!

I just wanted to put these two posts to the top so everyone has a chance.

"5"

Hello, I hope everyone had a good Friday and you have LOTS planned for National Scrapbooking Day :) Me, I am gonna craft, craft and more craft, hehehehe.

I worked on a card and combines three challenges again. I actually find it challenging so it keeps me wanting to try it more and more.

First challenge is from 365 Cards, you are to use a number on your project. For this one, I choose the number 5, my niece will be 5 next month, can't start too early, huh? ;)

Second challenge is from A Spoon Full of Sugar. This one is to use the colors blue and green. Now this was easy. My niece loves blue and green, so a perfect match.

For the third challenge, it was from Hemidemisemiquaver Design. Now this WAS a challenge for me. I have a HARD time with the clear cardstock. I think I may have to really try and use it more and more. I don't know what it is, but I draw a blank every time I try and use it.

Make sure you plan for some crafting time this weekend. I find it sooo relaxing :)
